PROSEDUR VISA DAN IJIN TINGGAL
Visa
As of 21 December 2007 every person who is obliged to acquire a visa before entering one or more of the Schengen states, for business or private reasons, can obtain a short term visa for a period of stay of 1 - 90 days valid for all above mentioned states.
A Schengen visa is valid for the following countries:
In Indonesia, the applications should be made at the Embassy of the state where the main sojourn will be/where the sojourn will be the longest.
NOTE: If your main destination can not be ascertained, the Schengen state through which you first enter the territory will be responsible for granting the visa.
Procedure for application of a short term visa for a stay in the Schengen territory
Visa applicant should normally make a personal appreance at the Embassy of Honorary Consulate either when submitting his/her application or when picking up the visa. Applications through third parties are generally not accepted. Please bring a copy of all documents that are not addressed to the Embassy and of which you want the original to be returned to you.
General
- 1 (one) recent colour photograph, passport size (appx.3,5-4,5 cm). Requirements for the photograph:
- A colour photo featuring only the face of the applicant, light background.
- Applicant must be recognizable from the photo.
- Head must be straight and in the middle of the photograph, whole head must be visible.
- Eyes must be entirely visible and the applicant must look directly at the camera.Spectacles or hair cannot prevent the eyes from being visible.
- Expression must be neutral so that both eyes are open and mouth closed.
- A valid passport (the passport must be valid at least three months after the duration of the Schengen visa).
- Copy of the holder page of your passport.
- A printout of the flight itinerary to Finland needs to be included in the visa application, however, paid flight tickets need to be presented only when the visa is granted. The itinerary should prove that the stay in Schengen territory does not exceed 90 days. If you want your original printout back, please submit an extra copy.
- Proof of social / economic ties of applicant to Indonesia or country of permanent residence (for instance letter of employment, proof of study, Kartu Keluarga (family card), personal bank statement or -balance over last 3 months prior to the application). Please also submit a copy of all original documents (such as Kartu Keluarga etc.), of which you would like the original back.
- Travel and medical insurance with a minimum coverage of € 30,000 valid within the whole Schengen area.
For a private visit
- (in case of stay at a private address) invitation (not older than 3 months), with at least the following information: personal data of the inviter and the invitee, such as date of birth, address and telephone number, purpose and duration of the trip, the relationship between the inviter and invitee.
- (in case of stay in a hotel) confirmed hotel booking and/or proof of payment, both for the whole period of stay
For a business trip
- invitation from the company that will be visited (not older than 3 months)
- proof of recent business contacts (optional)
- confirmed hotel booking and/or proof of payment, both for the whole period of stay (optional)
- company profile (company of applicant)
Minors
In case of a minor travelling alone or with one parent, permission is needed from both parents/other parents. The signature of the parent(s) should be notarised (this can be done at the notary office, signature with IDR 6.000 stamp will not be accepted). A copy of the birth certificate of the minor in question should also be submitted.
NOTE:
- There is no legal right to a visa.
- A later change of the purpose of the visa is not admissible.
- The total duration of one stay or several consecutive stays can not exceed 90 days per semester in the aforesaid Schengen territory.
- Applications have to be submitted in person and cannot be done by third parties.
- There is a possibility that the Immigration Authorities at the point of arrival in the Schengen territory will request to see all for the journey relevant papers, for instance reason of journey, solvability, particulars of referent, hotel reservation, insurance etc.
- Additional documents of proof may be necessary in individual cases. Please bring also a copy of all documents you want returned back to you. Documents that relate to the visa application will not be returned unless specified.
- Incomplete application forms or insufficient documents will result in a negative decision on the application.

Residence Permits for Students to Finland
To study in Finland for more than 3 months you must apply for and obtain a residence permit before leaving for Finland.
To apply for a residence permit for study purposes bring the following documents to the Embassy or Honorary Consulate:
- Completed application form for a residence permit and Appendix: Clarification on studies
- Two passport sized photos.
- Valid passport or other travel document.
- Original letter of acceptance.
- For students completing their degree in Finland submit the original letter of acceptance from your Finnish school or university.
- If accepted as an exchange student to a program, submit original statement from the Exchange Organisation that you have been accepted to. The letter should also clearly state your benefits regarding school fees, food and housing.
- Written proof of your housing arrangements in Finland
- Written proof that you have sufficient funds to cover your stay in Finland. Funds required are € 6.000 per year. Proof of funds can be in the form of a letter from your bank.
Please note: Proof of funds in form of scholarships will be deducted from this amount. - Written proof of any scholarship you have received
- Processing fee € 55 (paid in rupiah)
Embassy may request additional documents, if needed
The process usually takes 8-12 weeks and cannot be started until all paperwork is received.
Worker's Residence Permit to Finland
To work in Finland you must apply for and obtain a worker's residence permit before reaching Finland.
Please send us all the documents in duplicate.
To apply for a residence permit and a work permit bring or send the following documents to the Embassy or Consulate:
- Completed application form for a residence and work permit. Appendix to residence permit for workers in duplicate (UVI 101 and TM 054). Application form cannot be faxed, they must be the originals.
- Two passport size photos.
- Valid passport or other travel document.
- Statement from the Finnish Department of Labour (Työvoimatoimisto) which your Finnish employer has obtained or detailed information by whom and where your work permit application has been submitted.
- Written proof of your housing arrangements in Finland.
- Processing fee € 200
Embassy or the Directorate of Immigration may request additional documents, if needed.
Residence Permit on family ties to Finland
To apply for a residence permit for immigration purposes bring the originals of the following documents to the Embassy:
- Competed application form for a residence permit and appendix: Clarification on family ties
- Two passport size photos.
- Valid passport or other travel document.
- If you are applying to join your spouse in Finland, a notarized copy of your marriage certificate. If your children are applying with you, notarized copies of their birth certificates and notarized signatures by both custodians.
- Processing fee for adult € 200 and for minor €55
Embassy or the Finnish Immigration Service may request additional documents, if needed.
The process usually takes upwards of 3 - 4 months depending on the case in question and cannot be started until all paperwork is submitted.
Processing fee
Payment may be in the form of cash or money transfer to the Embassy's account. The fee is non-refundable and is subject to change due to exchange rate fluctuations.
